The moment I had my hands on the Premier Heated Poultry Waterer, I felt amazing! Yes…. and the main reason is it became so comfortable for me to carry the waterer wherever I wanted. The heavy-duty handle allowed me to easily carry the waterer even when it was full! But what I liked about the secure lid. I’ll tell you why…. it has saved me some times whenever I would just forget to close the lids tightly and carry the bottle. Thanks to the interlocking tabs. It has helped me to carry the heated water safe and secure.

The one thing that impressed me the most is the capacity of the Premier Heated Poultry Waterer. Oh my! I could even pour in enough water for a nice bunch of chickens in the poultry.

Does this product work for ducks?

Oh, I would have loved to… But you see since ducks require more flushing, you won’t be able to do it with just a single round. You need the product to work multiple times for you.

2. Farm Innovators HB-60P Drinker

Why We Like It

  • It has 3 sides mounted nipples so that it becomes easy for them to drink the warm water.
  • The product operates at 60 Watts, but the power consumption is far lesser than most other.

The Farm Innovators HB-60P Drinker is the third time I had purchased a heated chicken waterer. Well, I’ll be rather happy to use it again….. The presence of the drip-free nipples was always helpful for me to serve the warm water only to the poultry and keep it protected from birds… I must be honest… I was amazed to see that the bucket always had clean and pure warm water from it.

On my first use, it was a bit difficult to understand the process, but when I got used to the waterer, it was really easy. In fact, what I loved the most about the product is that it has enough space to fit in water for almost 15 chickens.

So I would always use it whenever I used to feed my poultry. The top has easy removal and installation which allowed me to cut downtime and made it far easier for me to carry the bucket. But I genuinely believe that the grip could have been better. I had faced one difficulty for the first time when the bucket was full. It was a terrible time for me as I held the bucket from the sides. Should have used it from the middle!

Is the cord wrapped with the coil?

Why would I even think of it….? Oh no! Foil wrapping means that the heat transmission would below. I bet it will take up a long time to heat the water inside. However, coming to the product, it is perfectly set up to heat you the water in the least time.

3. Farm Innovators Model HP-125 Heated Base

Why We Like It

  • It consumes 125 watts of power. But since it takes lower time to heat up, the power cost is efficient.
  • You can place it in a large water fount along with the base. It is enough for serving 30 chickens.
  • The power cable is long. It allowed me to install the base closer to the coops.
  • The product is completely light in weight. Even when the water is full, I was able to easily carry it.

>> Check Current Price

It was the first time that I tried to switch from a regular bucket to a metal base. After hours of research, I found the Farm Innovators Model HP-125 Heated Base to be the perfect choice for my poultry founts. I must say the base is solid and robust. So even it gets accidentally bitten by your chicken, it will still be quite sturdy. But what I liked the most about the product is the thermostat it has. I was always impressed by it…. the thermostat could easily detect the temperature of the water and heat it in the pan immediately.

It gave me so much of relief for most o the days when the temperature dropped down. I will recommend it to all the people who are looking for a metal base.

Coming to the design, I will always rate this chicken water heater higher! Though it is quite sturdy and also useful, I will still suggest everyone use the product with double-wall metal founts. It gives you extra protection to prevent overheating the base.

Can I use this with a plastic water container?

Of course, you can… I have tried it several times with my plastic fount over several times. I was satisfied with both the heat quality and the adaptation of the pan. It allowed me to get the best results as always.

This was my first ever heated waterer that I brought ever since I started my poultry farm. Well, I’ll be honest… I was inspired by my friend for using these to feed the poultry. Since I had only 5 chickens at the beginning, it would always help me to serve my purpose. It has around 1.5 gallons of water which happened to be sufficient for my poultry.

The best thing that impressed me is the stainless material that is being used in the waterer. The stainless steel option helps to keep the water much cleaner than the plastic ones. But what impressed me the most about the product is the presence of the wide mouth lid. In fact, there were three. So I could easily feed my chicken coop and everyone at the same time.

My first experience with the Love My Barnyard Backyard Chicken Waterer was really good and I always found it easy to carry. Even when the water is full, the product had a lightweight. Moreover, I could even get the option of hanging it.

Could you put a deicer in it for the winter months?

Well, I would love to and yes I will… The dicer will perfectly fit into this Love My Barnyard Backyard Chicken Waterer. You can try it out as well. Just try to get smaller dicer which will get into the waterer bucket.

Some Best Seller Heated Chicken Waterer [Under Budget]

Last update on 2022-01-05 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API

How to Choose Heated Poultry Waterer

1. Material of Use

The first and probably the most important factor that you need to consider is the material of the heated chicken waterer. There are a lot of products available while some are made up of Stainless Steel and some are made up of the ABS plastic.

The stainless steel ones are more durable than the plastic ones but are also heavier. However, if you have a product with BPA-free plastic to use, it can also be an ideal material. So try to choose a material which will not affect the water quality.

2. Capacity

The capacity of the heated chicken waterer matters a lot when you are willing to buy one. If you have a small farm, it is obvious that you do not have to buy a product with a large capacity.

However, it all depends on the number of chickens that you have in the poultry. If you want to feed about 10 chickens every time, you can pick a product with 2 gallons capacity. However, choosing 6.5 gallons of heated chicken waterer will be sufficient for a big coupe. It allows you to accommodate more than 100 chickens together.

3. Power

Power is another option that you need to focus upon when you are willing to buy a heated chicken waterer. Since it works mainly in the winter, the power consumption is much more because of the temperature of the water. Most of the heated poultry waterers start working at high watt output.

So make sure that even if the waterer works with high power, it is more efficient and heats up the water faster. This will allow you to have efficiency in power consumption.

4. Budget

Budget is always an important factor when you are buying the heated chicken waterer for the first time. A lot of people may compromise essential factors such as capacity and also the sturdy body of the waterer. Missing out on such features may prove to be very costly as you will have to purchase another one only after a few months.

Always go with a budget-friendly model that will have all the key features. Make sure that you can always have all the essential features covered every time you buy a new heated water bowl for chickens.

5. Water refilling

Another factor is the water refilling option. It is never easy for you to completely bring back the heated chicken waterer to the default state every time you wish to buy a new product. Try to go for the ones which have removable lids. So you can just pour in the water once it gets finished inside the waterer.

This will allow you to save both time and effort while refilling the waterer.

6. Weight

Another important factor that you need to consider is the option of having lightweight material. You may have to carry the heated chicken waterer several times while you are feeding. When the waterer becomes full, it automatically becomes heavy.

So try to choose a material which will provide you with the best option to carry the heater at any time.

Frequently Asked Question [FAQ’s]

Can I use the heater with a plastic water container?

I’ll be honest about this; the material is all that matters for heating. The temperature will reach sky high when you want to heat the container. In such a case, I’ll suggest you go for a metal container model. This is mainly because if the plastic is not suitable for the temperature, it will melt instantly.

Can I replace the heating coil of the container?

To be fair, the heater waterer is completely dependent on one of the heating element and the heating coil. So if it does not work, you’ll not be able to replace the parts as well. This, it becomes important that you look for repairing the product. I’ve searched for the heating-coil in the entire market, but it seems like the manufacturer does not permit. So you can only get it replaced by the manufacturer.

Has anyone used this with an extension cord?

I do it quite often. Of course, I can’t place the bucket right under the plug. This seemed to be a common routine for me to carry the heated water bucket closer to the poultry until I tried to use an extension cord. Though every manufacturer will not suggest you to use one because of the voltage deflection, you can still opt for one.

Do I need to hook a hose to the product?

This depend s on where the nipples are present. If they are present just at the bottom, obviously you need to hook them. But if the container is full, it will be very heavy. So try to pick up a right hook that can get a hold of the weight. You need to buy the hook externally from the market.

Does this product work for ducks?

If you know the process of drinking water for ducks, they do flush the water through their nose and mouth. Unfortunately, the water heaters do not come with such a mechanism. So I’ll suggest you keep the bucket away from ducks. Even, their beaks are flattened and wide and may not fit any of the nipples that are present around the bucket.

Can this device be left outside?

Of course, you can leave the product outside. But it all matters about the weather, the climatic condition, and the power source. Without proper electricity, the water will not be kept warm for long. In such a case, you may not be able to use this device outside. But if the climatic conditions are in favor of you, leaving the bucket outside will not be a problem.

Is a day old chick able to drink from this?

Now, this depends on how you train them. I had an initial doubt while trying the bucket with day-old chickens, but since I gave them proper training, it never became a problem. Still, I’ll suggest you use small buckets and tubs for the day-old chicken to drink properly. They will be able to poke their beak properly.

Editor’s Pick

Ever since I’ve started my poultry, choosing the finest heated water bowl for chickens has become so important for me. I got to know the benefits of feeding warm water to chicken to keep them healthy. But I’ve seen a lot of people buying random heated poultry waterers on the go and ending up not at all being satisfied with it.

While creating the article, I had to come up with several products. Since most of them include different features, it becomes a daunting task to choose the best one out of them. Of course, it takes time to list out the best and I could only manage this after spending 40 hours on research. It is always a daunting task in hand to choose the top 3 because there are so many products already available in the market today. Still, for your help, I have picked out 3 products and compared them for you to choose the best one.

The Farm Innovators HB-60P is the best choice for me if you want big capacity along with an option to accommodate multiple chickens. I found that the bucket comes with a 2-gallon capacity. So it is always efficient for 15 chickens. Moreover, the product includes 60 Watts of power along with a heavy-duty metal handle. So when I checked the strength of the metal handle, I felt that it is quite strong indeed.

The Premier Heated Poultry Waterer is my premium choice not only because of the large quantity, but the perfect combination of money with performance. Moreover, the most impressive part was that even though it has a plastic handle, it is heavy duty and also reduces the weight.

The Farm Innovators Model HP-125 is another product that I liked the most when it came to value for money choice. In this price range, the offers that the product gives are quite decent. Apart from this, the single mount design became easier for the poultry to consume.

How to Choose Heated Poultry Waterer

","
\n\n
","

1. Material of Use

","

The first and probably the most important factor that you need to consider is the material of the heated chicken waterer. There are a lot of products available while some are made up of Stainless Steel and some are made up of the ABS plastic.

","

The stainless steel ones are more durable than the plastic ones but are also heavier. However, if you have a product with BPA-free plastic to use, it can also be an ideal material. So try to choose a material which will not affect the water quality.

","

2. Capacity

","

The capacity of the heated chicken waterer matters a lot when you are willing to buy one. If you have a small farm, it is obvious that you do not have to buy a product with a large capacity.

","

However, it all depends on the number of chickens that you have in the poultry. If you want to feed about 10 chickens every time, you can pick a product with 2 gallons capacity. However, choosing 6.5 gallons of heated chicken waterer will be sufficient for a big coupe. It allows you to accommodate more than 100 chickens together.

","

3. Power

","

Power is another option that you need to focus upon when you are willing to buy a heated chicken waterer. Since it works mainly in the winter, the power consumption is much more because of the temperature of the water. Most of the heated poultry waterers start working at high watt output.

","

So make sure that even if the waterer works with high power, it is more efficient and heats up the water faster. This will allow you to have efficiency in power consumption.

","

4. Budget

","

Budget is always an important factor when you are buying the heated chicken waterer for the first time. A lot of people may compromise essential factors such as capacity and also the sturdy body of the waterer. Missing out on such features may prove to be very costly as you will have to purchase another one only after a few months.

","

Always go with a budget-friendly model that will have all the key features. Make sure that you can always have all the essential features covered every time you buy a new heated water bowl for chickens.

","

5. Water refilling

","

Another factor is the water refilling option. It is never easy for you to completely bring back the heated chicken waterer to the default state every time you wish to buy a new product. Try to go for the ones which have removable lids. So you can just pour in the water once it gets finished inside the waterer.

","

This will allow you to save both time and effort while refilling the waterer.

","

6. Weight

","

Another important factor that you need to consider is the option of having lightweight material. You may have to carry the heated chicken waterer several times while you are feeding. When the waterer becomes full, it automatically becomes heavy.

","

So try to choose a material which will provide you with the best option to carry the heater at any time.

Frequently Asked Question [FAQ’s]

","
","
\n
\n
\n

Can I use the heater with a plastic water container?

\n

I’ll be honest about this; the material is all that matters for heating. The temperature will reach sky high when you want to heat the container. In such a case, I’ll suggest you go for a metal container model. This is mainly because if the plastic is not suitable for the temperature, it will melt instantly.

\n
\n
\n
\n

Can I replace the heating coil of the container?

\n

To be fair, the heater waterer is completely dependent on one of the heating element and the heating coil. So if it does not work, you’ll not be able to replace the parts as well. This, it becomes important that you look for repairing the product. I’ve searched for the heating-coil in the entire market, but it seems like the manufacturer does not permit. So you can only get it replaced by the manufacturer.

\n
\n
\n
\n

Has anyone used this with an extension cord?

\n

I do it quite often. Of course, I can’t place the bucket right under the plug. This seemed to be a common routine for me to carry the heated water bucket closer to the poultry until I tried to use an extension cord. Though every manufacturer will not suggest you to use one because of the voltage deflection, you can still opt for one.

\n
\n
\n
\n

Do I need to hook a hose to the product?

\n

This depend s on where the nipples are present. If they are present just at the bottom, obviously you need to hook them. But if the container is full, it will be very heavy. So try to pick up a right hook that can get a hold of the weight. You need to buy the hook externally from the market.

\n
\n
\n
\n

Does this product work for ducks?

\n

If you know the process of drinking water for ducks, they do flush the water through their nose and mouth. Unfortunately, the water heaters do not come with such a mechanism. So I’ll suggest you keep the bucket away from ducks. Even, their beaks are flattened and wide and may not fit any of the nipples that are present around the bucket.

\n
\n
\n
\n

Can this device be left outside?

\n

Of course, you can leave the product outside. But it all matters about the weather, the climatic condition, and the power source. Without proper electricity, the water will not be kept warm for long. In such a case, you may not be able to use this device outside. But if the climatic conditions are in favor of you, leaving the bucket outside will not be a problem.

\n
\n
\n
\n

Is a day old chick able to drink from this?

\n

Now, this depends on how you train them. I had an initial doubt while trying the bucket with day-old chickens, but since I gave them proper training, it never became a problem. Still, I’ll suggest you use small buckets and tubs for the day-old chicken to drink properly. They will be able to poke their beak properly.

Editor’s Pick

","

Ever since I’ve started my poultry, choosing the finest heated water bowl for chickens has become so important for me. I got to know the benefits of feeding warm water to chicken to keep them healthy. But I’ve seen a lot of people buying random heated poultry waterers on the go and ending up not at all being satisfied with it.

","

While creating the article, I had to come up with several products. Since most of them include different features, it becomes a daunting task to choose the best one out of them. Of course, it takes time to list out the best and I could only manage this after spending 40 hours on research. It is always a daunting task in hand to choose the top 3 because there are so many products already available in the market today. Still, for your help, I have picked out 3 products and compared them for you to choose the best one.

","

The Farm Innovators HB-60P is the best choice for me if you want big capacity along with an option to accommodate multiple chickens. I found that the bucket comes with a 2-gallon capacity. So it is always efficient for 15 chickens. Moreover, the product includes 60 Watts of power along with a heavy-duty metal handle. So when I checked the strength of the metal handle, I felt that it is quite strong indeed.

The Premier Heated Poultry Waterer is my premium choice not only because of the large quantity, but the perfect combination of money with performance. While reviewing, I found that the product has a larger capacity and it is around 3 Gallons. This makes the product slightly higher than the other two products. Moreover, the most impressive part was that even though it has a plastic handle, it is heavy duty and also reduces the weight.

The Farm Innovators Model HP-125 is another product that I liked the most when it came to value for money choice. In this price range, the offers that the product gives are quite decent. I could receive a proper 2-gallon bucket along with low power consumption. The product only consumes around 100-watts of power and thus, it became easy to operate. Apart from this, the single mount design became easier for the poultry to consume.
